Dear GAMA members,
I wanted to share with you the latest update on the impact the spread of the coronavirus is having on next week’s Expo in Reno. Last Friday we issued a statement to the membership about how serious we are taking this situation and our decision to proceed with Expo 2020.
In addition to recommending attendees follow CDC guidelines to reduce the risk of transmission, we are working with the Peppermill to ensure they are doing all they can by adding disinfectant solution to their cleaning processes of chairs, door handles, handrails, elevators, and restrooms, as well as adding disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizing stations at the entrances. In addition, GAMA is providing disinfectant wipes at the games night tables so attendees can clean game components between demos.
Of the 190 exhibitors signed up for the show, we have had seven exhibitors cancel due to concerns about the coronavirus: two international and five domestic. They are:
- Lion Rampant Imports (Canada)
- GTS Distribution
- Max Protection
- Skytear (Italy)
- Southern Hobby Distribution
- Star City Games
- Wizards of the Coast
We understand that this was a hard decision for them to make given the important role Expo plays in our industry. Please be assured that we are monitoring the situation closely as we want to have a safe and productive Expo for all our members. If you have any questions, please feel to contact me directly at ed@gama.org or call the office at (614) 255-4500.
