2020 Power Retail Award winners
GAMA and the Retail Division take great pride in honoring the best in retail innovation and creativity with the Power Retail Awards.
Each year, these awards recognize the most innovative retailers in a variety of categories.
Winners for the 2020 awards were announced during the GRD Dinner on Monday, March 9 at GAMA Expo. Each winner received a $500 credit memo from one GAMA Distributor member and will receive
official recognition in the Spring issue of Around the Table.
Please join us in congratulating the 2020 Power Retail Award winners!
Outstanding Marketing
Zia Comics | Las Cruces, NM
"Zia Comics goes the extra step to be more than just a game store, we are a pop culture experience! We have a large YouTube library with videos on everything from current
movies to tabletop "how to plays". We think outside the box with our classes on improv, cosplay, and more."
Outstanding Organized Play
Just Games Rochester | Rochester, NY
"As a WPN Premium location and FFG Prime Championship host, we're familiar with and staffed for competition. We also host charity fundraisers for customer community
nominated non-profits, so we're sure that our value to our community is clear and obvious. All of these are set up with the goal of making gaming be FUN and ACCESSIBLE for
everyone."
Outstanding Store Design
The Ludoquist | London, UK
"With over 1500 games, The Ludoquist has arguably the best publicly available games library in the UK. It has a small retail area, but primarily makes its money by
providing excellent food and drink offerings to guests; it can be argued it is a boardgame *restaurant* rather than cafe."
Outstanding Store
The Ludoquist | London, UK
"The Ludoquist has been featured twice on BBC1 as a location which gives context to how cool gaming now is. It is loved by gamers who live near it, many of whom are
envied by those who don't. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, but ultimately the atmosphere there comes from the community it has gathered."
