Membership Levels

GAMA has several different classes of membership. Type of membership depends on what sort of business the company runs. Annual dues vary from class to class. Each classification is detailed below.

Full Voting Membership (FVM)

Open to any company that is engaged in the manufacture of gaming product for commercial sale or use; that is the exclusive U.S. sales representative, licensee or agent for the manufacturer of such a gaming product; that is the publisher of a magazine or other periodical related to gaming products; or that provides a play-by-mail game service. FVM's are eligible for all benefits of the Association and may vote for Association officers, bylaws changes, and any other issue that comes before the voting membership. Dues are $300 annually.

Wholesale Membership

Open to any company engaged in wholesale distribution of hobby game products. Companies that are distributors only must join in this category--however, any distributor that also manufactures games or game-related products may choose to join as a Full-Voting Member. Wholesale members may not vote for Association officers, but they do elect a Chair of their division, who has a seat on the Board of Directors. All other benefits are available. Dues are $300 annually.

Retail Membership

Open to any business engaged in retail sales of hobby game products. Retail members may not vote for Association officers, but they do elect a Chair and advisory board for their division. The Chair has a seat on GAMA's board of directors. Dues are $125 annually.

Communicating Membership

Open to any company, individual, game club or organization not eligible to join as a Full-Voting, Wholesale, or Retail Member. Communicating Members may not vote for Association officers but are eligible for some benefits. Ideal for freelance artists, authors or designers. Dues are $50 annually.
